The Sick Child

Using a case study based approach, this study day uses collaborative learning to underpin an evidence based approach to the diagnosis and management of acute illness in children.
Suitable for nurses, pharmacists and those working in acute/out of hours settings in the community, the structure of the day also enables you to network with colleagues and counts as 6 hours of CPD for your revalidation.

By the end of this course attendees will:

• Be aware of the principles behind effective history taking and assessment of the sick child.
• Recognise important red flags which may present in paediatric acute illness.
• Be able to implement evidence based care for the acutely ill child and initiate appropriate referral
