Hanham Secure Health is a private healthcare organisation delivering NHS commissioned primary
care services to patients within secure environments. We help to deliver holistic healthcare services to
those individuals within some of the local criminal justice system settings. We currently operate within
secure settings across the Bristol, South Gloucestershire and Wiltshire area.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a Healthcare Assistant to join our Physical Healthcare team to provide a range of
physical health services to the adult male patients at HMP Leyhill.

This site comprises, nursing, advanced clinical practice and GP services, all of which come together
to provide high quality planned primary care and urgent/acute care and clinical substance misuse
support services. The HSH team works alongside the Avon & Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS
Trust (AWP) mental health team.

Assessment of patient needs, delivering healthcare provision, responding to medical emergencies
and assisting registered staff with administering medicine or prescribed treatment programmes and
interventions (within guidelines of relevant professional bodies) will be some of the key duties in this
role.

The success of this role relies on strong administration skills, effective communication, the ability to
work effectively within a team and on own initiative, as well as a willingness to be flexible and to
adapt.

ABOUT YOU

Our ideal candidate will have a Care Certificate, NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent
as well as Basic Life Support (BLS).

You will need previous experience of working within primary care and/or delivering primary care
services with evidence of continued professional development post-registration. A warm, person-centred approach to caring for patients is a quality we look for in all our people.
You will need to be competent and confident in autonomous working, critical thinking and evidence
based clinical decision making, whilst working within a multi-disciplinary team as well as have good
organizational skills to support the smooth running of the physical health service.

Previous experience of working within a secure environment or a mental health setting is not required
and the successful candidate will receive robust induction and training, as well as on-going training,
supervision and mentoring. HSH supports and promotes further learning, development and, where
