Nurse Associate – Bridge View Medical

Bridge View Medical is merged Practice and operate from five sites- Marksbury, Southville, Malago & Gaywood House & BS1 surgeries with c 38,000 patients, cared by a team of over 150 dedicated Partners and staff. We are a Primary Care Network in our own right and take an active involvement in the South Bristol Locality.

We pride ourselves on being a learning Practice which in turn looks to teach others. Two of our sites host GP Trainees and we also deliver a very large training programme for medical students from Bristol University and Nurse Students from UWE. Bridge View Medical’s teaching across year groups was recognised in the last academic year with an Academy GP Teaching Practice Award.

We are seeking a registered and experienced Nursing Associate with to join our really professional and friendly Nursing team on a permanent role.

The successful candidate should be able to work as part of our multi-disciplinary team under the supervision of a Lead Nurse and support the nursing team on day to day patient care services.

Reports to: Lead Nurse

Responsible to: Chief Nurse, Lead GP and Practice Manager

Location: successful applicants would be willing to work at one of our branch sites across our practice, or at any of the sites depending on required nurse staffing levels.

Salary: £23,000 – £24,100 per annum

Hours: Full time, 37.5 hrs/ week

As part of the multi-disciplinary health care system, the successful applicants will be supporting the nursing team in providing holistic, person-centered care and support for service end users.

As a Nursing Associate you will work independently, bridging the gap between health care support and registered nurses, whilst working safely within scope of practice and competence at all times. As a registered accountable professional, you will undertake a variety of clinical skills specific to your clinical area. You shall report to the Lead nurse at the site and accountable to Chief nurse and Lead GP. You shall be supported by a robust Induction & mentoring support to help you transition into the new role.

You should have a Foundation degree as a Registered Nursing Associate, NMC Registered and enthusiastic & motivated to learn new clinical skills where currently not trained. The role requires a little bit of flexibility to work extended hours and on Saturday mornings in IA clinics, on an occasional basis.

Experience of working within a primary health care setting would be advantageous, though not mandatory. We offer a robust Induction training and various training and continuous development opportunities to the successful candidate.

As part of the role you may be exposed to body fluids, blood, wounds and hence requires pre-employment occupational health referral/check.
