We are seeking a part-time Clinical Document Administrator to work in our General Office, as part of a team of medical secretaries and administrative assistants. The post will be for 17.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 1.30pm – 5pm. The role is for 40 weeks a year, including University term-times.

Your role would be to support our GP team by reviewing all incoming clinical documents and initiating routine actions where appropriate eg arranging additional test investigations requested by a consultant clinician, coding significant medical problems or diagnoses and updating the patient’s record with current medications. You would also ensure that all actions taken and actions outstanding are clearly recorded on the patients’ medical record.

The practice provides NHS GP care to around 21,000 Bristol university students and their dependents, many of whom are from overseas. We are seeking someone who is both confident and thorough in their approach to work, and who has a keen eye for detail. The successful candidate will also have strong organisational skills and enjoy working within a team.

Previous experience of working within General Practice or other healthcare setting is essential. Experience of working in a similar role would be a distinct advantage, but full training will be provided.
