Registered General Nurse (RGN) – Prison Healthcare
We are offering unique opportunities for registered nurses to work within the fascinating environment of prison healthcare. These opportunities currently existing within our female prison; HMP Eastwood Park and within two of our male prisons; HMP Bristol and HMP Ashfield with the opportunity for cross-site working to really expand and vary your working life. This includes opportunities to work within general practice sites to ensure skill and competency maintenance and development.
We are looking for nurses to be a part of our team of healthcare professionals (including GPs, Advanced Clinical Practitioners, Paramedics and Healthcare Assistants) delivering a range of services, including: health checks, screening, long-term condition management, minor injuries, minor ailments, triage and assessment, substance misuse support and much more.
Previous experience of working in prisons is not necessary and opportunities also exist for newly qualified nurses. Our robust induction, training and development pathways will ensure you have the tools, resources and knowledge needed to thrive in this area of medicine.
