Salaried GP and Teaching or Refugee Lead, 9 months minimum, potential to extend
We have an unexpected opportunity for a GP to work with us, starting as soon as possible to cover a new role. The role can be to undertake teaching of medical students on a Wednesday, with a further day of clinical work on a Friday (other days considered, but Wednesday is non-negotiable). Alternatively, that Wednesday of work can be to manage the Winford Manor Asylum Seeker Hotel, and the residents there who register with us. The other clinical day would involve seeing routine patients or duty GP work.
Harptree and Cameley Surgeries are looking for an enthusiastic and caring GP to join our friendly, well established team for 4 sessions a week. We are already fully staffed with 3 GP partners, 3 salaried doctors, an advanced nurse practitioner, pharmacist, visiting paramedic and social prescriber. We are a teaching and training practice and currently have 3 registrars working with us as well as teaching the University of Bristol students years 3-5.
We offer 15 minute appointments with regular catch up slots and a lunchtime meeting to discuss tricky cases. Our typical routine template includes seeing 12 patients in a morning and 9 in an afternoon. We have a duty system using accurx triage.
When supervising medical students, you will be given detailed teaching materials from the University of Bristol, and will review patients seen by the students and be responsible for supervising their consultations and run tutorials directed by the medical school.
