FPHC is a large general practice located in a purpose built surgery on the north side of Bath. We are a long-established teaching practice who are served by 4 Partners, 6 salaried GPs and a supporting team of managers, nursing, reception and admin staff. We have a strong team-centred culture with a friendly, supportive atmosphere

It operates from 2 sites supporting Bath Spa University student wellbeing services. We pride ourselves on being a modern general practice whilst retaining traditional values.

FPHC is part of the Independent Primary Care Network & benefits from close working relationships with the other practices in the Network and City as a whole.

Our CQC rating is good.

The medical staff are superbly helped by the rest of the primary care team:

On the day team – Nurse Practitioners

Nursing & HCA team – including an Advanced Nurse Practitioner, chronic disease management, treatment room, wound care, ECGs and venepuncture

Practice Team – admin and reception, prescription clerks, baby imms team

Network Team – Carers coordinator, Social Prescriber, Clinical Pharmacist and Pharmacy Technicians, we soon hope to have the First Contact Physiotherapy service back having been part of the trial

Neighbourhood team – for delivering domiciliary care to the housebound population

Dorothy House Hospice Services – nominated nurses

The FPHC site benefits from an excellent Doctors relationship with each other. We are a long established training practice (ST & more recently medical students).

Other highlights: the home visiting commitment is light, regular education meetings – in house & external speaker, document management team – fewer scans assigned to doctors, designated secretarial support, great managers,

The practice is as paper light and IT centric as it can be – SystmOne, video consultations, Ardens templates, teledermatology, community team well known facilitating easy electronic communication.

We have put an array of measures in place to ensure staff and patient safety during COVID-19.

We would expect a pro rata commitment in duty surgeries & extended hours.
