About The Team

I have been the General Manager of Avon LMC since October 2023 and have spent time developing the LMC and supporting the needs and views of General Practice.

Since 2013, I have worked across Primary and Secondary Care and as well as gaining experience in the private sector. In November 2023, I was called to the Bar of England and Wales as an unregistered Barrister following completion of the Bar training course and qualifying Law Degree.

Away from work, I enjoy running and active holidays. I also have found a passion for hiking up mountains having climbed Snowdon, Scafell Pike, Harter Fell and Ben Nevis in 2023. I am also a Sponsored Academy Councillor at Digitech Studio School, a Qualified Rugby Coach and an RFU First Aider.

I joined Avon LMC in August 2026 as a Systems & Communications Administrator. Prior to my current role, I have worked in a variety of different roles, including as a Healthcare Assistant in General Practice. This experience has given me valuable knowledge and an understanding of healthcare, which has assists me in my current role.

Outside of work I enjoy painting, reading and singing

I joined Avon Local Medical Committee in April 2000 and, after many years with the organisation, was delighted to take on the role of Office Manager in 2025.

Over the years, I have been involved in many different aspects of the LMC’s work, with a particular focus on Practice Staff Training. This is an area I have always really enjoyed, especially the opportunity to support practice teams and help organise training that makes a difference to their day-to-day roles.

Outside of work, I enjoy nothing more than relaxing with a good book, discovering a lovely coffee shop, and spending quality time with my family. I particularly treasure time with my children and grandchild, who keep life busy, happy and full of special moments.

I joined Avon LMC in August 2026 as a Training & Operations Administrator. Before joining the team, I worked with several NGOs, supporting projects and community initiatives.

I’m an artist and a creative thinker who loves drawing, painting, and exploring different forms of visual art. I enjoy coming up with new ideas, thinking outside the box, and finding creative ways to solve problems and make things more engaging. I also enjoy learning new things and exploring new ideas and experiences.

I joined the Avon Local Medical Committee in July 2022. Since then, I’ve completed a master’s in Human Resource Management alongside my role here, adding to my BSc in Psychology and CIPD accreditation. Outside of work, I’m actively involved in the Transforming Lives campaign with the Cross-Party in the Welsh Senedd, advocating for the impact of education. I’m also a mum to two little boys who bring endless joy and energy to my life. Balancing family, advocacy, study, and a career I love has been incredibly rewarding, and I’m excited for what’s next!

I have worked in a health care based setting since July 2023 which has helped me gain attributes that help me exceed in my role

When I am not working, I spend my time rescuing and taking care of different species of animals.

I have worked all roles within general practice ranging from locum to Partner, and I am now a salaried Lead GP in Charlotte Keel Medical Practice in Bristol. I have a portfolio career which include GP Training Programme Director, Appraiser and Mentoring roles. I have recently stepped down as Chair of England LMC Conference following the end of my three-year term but continue to be a member of the GP Committee of the BMA.

Most of my spare time is spent as a taxi driver for my three teenage children, but for “me” time I enjoy theatre and dancing to 90s club music.

2. Clinical Lead GP Charlotte Keel Medical Practice: managed by BrisDoc Healthcare Services. I am an employee of the company and, like all employees, receive an annual discretionary bonus.
3. BNSSG GP Training Programme Director: I am employed by NHS England to deliver GP Training in the area
4. GP Appraiser: I am contracted by NHS England to conduct annual appraisals for GPs in preparation for their revalidation
5. Prescribing/Dispensing Policy Lead for the GP Committee of the BMA. This is a paid role with a fixed monthly income.

Prior to taking on a partnership in Bristol in 2013, I worked as a sessional doctor in North and West Bristol.

I joined Avon LMC in September 2013 and continue to relish the challenge of supporting practices and trying to influence wider health care landscape on their behalf.

Away from work, I love exercise, rugby and reading.

2. GP Partner at Whiteladies Medical Centre. Our practice is a member of One Care. We are a shareholder in GP Care. We also participate in student teaching and research.

4. Trustee of Avon LMC Benevolent Fund

I’m a GP Partner at Tyntesfield Medical Group in North Somerset but have experience of working in practices with high levels of deprivation but also with ageing populations, plus I maintain a few hours in Urgent Primary Care.  Working in a variety of settings has helped me to keep in touch with issues affecting grassroots GPs. 

I became a Medical Director in 2026 but have experience of sitting on LMC Committees since I was a GP trainee.  My role on the Agenda Committee for the UK LMC Conference also keeps me plugged into the national issues which are relevant to GPs in BNSSG and offers a platform to elevate relevant issues to our national BMA representatives and Government.

I am passionate about General Practice and want to support GPs and their Practices to develop and be viable for the future. I am one of the GP Partners at Concord Medical Centre and GP Research Lead,  I went onto become the South Gloucestershire LMC Board Director in 2024 after being voted in by the membership. As one of the directors, I want the membership to know about the LMC, how we represent them and how we work collaboratively with stakeholders, as the LMC is the voice of grass roots GPs and their Practices.

Having represented general practice at conference and been quoted in the Pulse I want to continue to give general practice the voice it deserves. This includes funding, workload, workforce and estates. As a board member, having a voice at the table and sharing outcomes is key. I am foremost a GP and I wish general practice to be as best is it can and be viable for many years to come, for its GPs, staff and our patients.

1. Director of Avon Local Medical Committee. I represent South Gloucestershire Constituency for the LMC on a 3-year term from February 2024 to February 2027, dependent on successful election.
2. GP Partner and Research Lead at Mendip Vale Medical Group. I am a profit-sharing partner and owner of multi-site GP Practice site in BNSSG, and am based at the Coniston site in South Gloucestershire. Mendip Vale Medical Group have taken on contracts such as Covid medicine delivery unit and Research. This includes both commercial and non-commercial research. 
3. Trustee of Avon LMC Benevolent Fund

As Director of Nursing at Avon LMC, I am passionate about advocating for nurses working across general practice and ensuring that the nursing voice is represented in both local and national discussions. A key part of my role is providing leadership and representation on GP Contract requirements that impact the nursing workforce or are delivered by nursing staff. I work to ensure that the contribution of nurses is recognised in the development and implementation of contractual requirements, service specifications, and new models of care, while championing a sustainable and supported nursing workforce.

Alongside my role at Avon LMC, I am the UK Professional Lead for Primary Care at the Royal College of Nursing (RCN), where I influence and support the advancement of primary care nursing across the UK. These roles enable me to bring together local and national perspectives, ensuring that the challenges and opportunities facing general practice nursing are heard and raised.

I am committed to supporting the professional development, recognition, and retention of the general practice nursing workforce, while promoting high standards of clinical governance, patient safety, and quality improvement. I also continue to work clinically on an ad hoc basis, helping me to remain connected to frontline practice and the realities faced by nursing teams every day.

Legacy Nurse/ New to Practice and Preceptorship Programme Joint Lead, Student Nurse Associate/ Registered Nurse Degree Apprenticeship/ Enhanced Care Practitioner Practice Education Facilitator.

I’ve worked within Primary Care (BNSSG) for the past 15 years in a number of surgeries as a General Practice Nurse and latterly as a Lead Nurse.  I started my current role in September 2022 and have worked with over 80 new to practice nurses and nurse associates and love watching them grow in confidence.  

In my spare time I love gardening, open water swimming and spending time with my family and friends.

I qualified as a registered Nurse in 1984 and worked in a GP Practice in North Bristol for the last 17 years as  the Respiratory lead, and Joint Lead Nurse. I am also a Nurse Prescriber.

I now work as a Legacy Mentor and am Joint lead for the New to Practice Programme and Preceptorship, and Joint lead for the Student Nurse Associate/Registered Nurse degree Apprenticeship for Primary Care (BNSSG).

In my spare time, I love knitting and am a member of Gasworks Community choir!
