Introduction to Wound Management (F2F)

Introduction to wound management is aimed at non-registered professionals, e.g., HCAs or nurses who are newly qualified/completely new to wounds.

Aim of the course:

An introduction to wound and leg ulcer assessment and management. The course covers assessment of tissue types, assessment and management of infection, exudate levels, wound edges/ surrounding skin including knowing when to escalate deteriorating and/ or infected wounds/ leg ulcers and the appropriate onwards referral required. The training also covers the local dressing formulary, dressing indications and the leg ulcer pathways at a basic level.
