Medical Receptionist – Greenway Community Practice
Overview
Position: Medical Receptionist (Part-Time, 15–20 hours per week)
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a warm and enthusiastic Medical Receptionist to join our friendly team at Greenway Community Practice.
You’ll work within a supportive, close-knit reception team, playing a vital role in delivering high-quality, patient-centred care.
What you'll be doing
As a Care Navigator, you will provide the first point of contact for patients and guide them to the appropriate service or healthcare professional. Excellent organisation skills and a passion for delivering outstanding customer service are essential.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Greeting patients and providing a welcoming, professional first impression
- Answering telephone calls and responding to patient queries
- Booking appointments and managing patient records
- Performing administrative tasks to support the smooth running of the practice
- Active signposting to statutory and voluntary sector services to help patients access the care they need

Who are we looking for?
- Experience in providing high-quality customer service
- Ability to work well in a team
- Experience in a similar role is preferred, but full training will be provided for the right candidate
- Positive, proactive, and able to use initiative
Job Summary:
- To provide an efficient and effective reception, clerical, and administrative support service to the practice team in accordance with relevant policies and procedures.
- To use skills, knowledge, and experience to support the administration systems in the practice.
- As a Care Navigator you will be expected to provide a consistent point of contact for both patients and staff, with the aim of enabling patients to get the right coordinated support, at the right time to help manage a wide range of needs.
- This will include active signposting to a range of statutory and voluntary sector services which are often complex and difficult to navigate.
- To offer general assistance to the practice team and project a positive and friendly image to patients and visitors both in person and on the telephone.
