Summary:

This practical masterclass develops the knowledge and confidence required by Practice Managers and other non-clinical managers to establish, maintain and evidence effective governance within general practice. 

Delegates will explore what good governance looks like in everyday practice, how regulatory requirements translate into management systems and how practices can demonstrate that policies, risks, incidents, complaints and improvement activity are actively managed rather than simply documented. 

The course will connect CQC requirements with everyday management responsibilities, enabling delegates to identify governance gaps, strengthen assurance arrangements and approach regulatory scrutiny with greater confidence

Course content:

• Understanding CQC regulation and the responsibilities of non-clinical managers in maintaining safe, effective and well-led services
• Leading effective governance systems, including policies, responsibilities, oversight, assurance and evidence
• RIS, significant events, complaints, safeguarding and learning from incidents
• Monitoring compliance, maintaining evidence and identifying gaps before they become regulatory concerns
• CQC readiness, demonstrating good governance and responding effectively to regulatory scrutiny

On completion of this course delegates will be able to (expected outcome):

• Explain how CQC requirements translate into everyday governance responsibilities and management systems within general practice
• Review their practice’s governance arrangements, identify gaps or areas of risk and implement appropriate improvements
• Organise and demonstrate evidence of effective governance and approach CQC assessment or regulatory scrutiny with greater confidence
