Welcome to our weekly newsletter, sharing the latest news and topics of interest for practices.

The GP Referendum on whether the profession accepts the 2024/25 contract ends today. But don’t worry if you didn’t get a chance to vote, or if you are not yet a BMA member – this is just the dress rehearsal. This survey will give GPC England a steer for next steps, so ensure you join the BMA if you want a say about the future of general practice.
I will be attending an emergency GPC England meeting on 28/04/24, when the results of the referendum will be shared, and next steps discussed. As your GPC representative for Avon and Gloucestershire, please let me know if there are any issues you would like me to escalate to the national team. Your ideas for solutions are even more useful, as the challenges of underfunding, demand/capacity mismatch, and GP estates, are well rehearsed.
In the meantime, I hope many of you are able to have a well-deserved break over the Easter weekend. And thank you to all of you keeping the ship afloat over the bank holiday period.

Avon LMC will be hosting a webinar on Tuesday 11th June at 1pm when we will be joined by national primary care representatives of the CQC team, to help practices prepare for CQC inspections.
In advance of this webinar, we will share a survey to assess learning needs, as well as to consolidate your burning questions for a Q&A session.
We are hoping this is the first of a series of LMC lunch and learn sessions when we will host educational content crucial for your everyday practice.
If you have any ideas for what you would like to see in this space, please contact us on info@almc.co.uk.
