Inclisiran
Last week the ICB announced additional funding for the administration of inclisiran via a LES. Like all enhanced services, the LMC would encourage practices to carefully consider the financial viability of all new contracts and to include a margin for management and governance.
Board Appointments
Following the opportunity for expressions of interest for the LMC Board positions in Bristol and South Gloucestershire, we are pleased to announce that Dr Lee Salkeld has been re-elected as the Board member for Bristol. There has been more that one expression of interest in the S Glos constituency so there will be an election held over the next week. S Glos GPs will be emailed about the election separately and we expect to be able to announce the successful candidate in next week’s bulletin.
We are pleased to announce a special opportunity for practice management colleagues in BNSSG. Thanks to collaborative efforts between IGPM and One Care, funding is available for one-year associate membership with the Institute of General Practice Management (IGPM).
This introductory funding aims to support practice management colleagues in maximizing the benefits of IGPM’s resources for the next 12 months. Additionally, IGPM is offering 10 complimentary coaching sessions for those seeking accreditation, covering each domain in the accreditation process.
Membership with IGPM begins on January 1, 2024. For those interested, please contact kerry.millar@onecare.org.uk by December 10.
GPs are encouraged to inform their practice management staff about this opportunity. If any GPs wish to learn more about IGPM, its purpose, and benefits, feel free to reach out to Peter Maynard (peter.maynard1@nhs.net) or Robyn Clarke (robyn.clark3@nhs.net), both long-time contributors to the organization since its inception.
LWe wanted to share some crucial information sourced from GPCE/BMA regarding Questions 2O and 2N. Please take a moment to review the details below:
Question 2O: GP Pay Transparency Regulations
Practices are required to inform eligible persons about GP pay transparency regulations, especially those engaged by the partnership. The guidance emphasizes that practices are not expected to monitor compliance once information has been shared. This includes locums, salaried colleagues, and agency-engaged locums. In cases of new subcontracting arrangements, partnerships should strive to include a self-declaration clause in the documentation.
Question 2N: Self-Declaration Obligation for Earnings Above £156k
This question pertains to single-handed GPs or partners in a partnership holding GMS, PMS, and APMS contracts. Three possible responses include:
- Yes: If all eligible partners have self-declared.
- No: If eligible partners have not self-declared (not recommended unless certain).
- N/A (Not Applicable): If no partner is eligible to self-declare.
Completing “No” is discouraged unless certain of eligibility and non-compliance. If eligibility is uncertain or information is unavailable, GPC England recommends leaving the question blank. For any submission issues, a template email is provided for communication with ssd.nationalservicedesk@nhs.net:
