It will cover pills and pill checks, injections and injection checks, plus a brief overview of other types of contraception. Scenarios will help consolidate the learning to enable you to do effective and safe yearly checks. Brief overview of STIs and testing. We will be using the UKMEC.

Max Capacity: 15 Fully booked This course is designed to enable clinical staff to accurately and safely assess, evaluate and manage wounds on their caseload. The course briefly covers the stages of wound healing, the importance of holistic wound assessment and looks in more depth at using the TIMERS (Tissue, Infection and inflammation, Moisture balance, Edge of wound, Regeneration/ repair, Surrounding skin/ social factors) framework to assess wounds. Dressings available on the formulary and their indications are also explored. To recognise when it is necessary to refer on for further advice and guidance in a timely and appropriate manner.
