Who Should Attend?

This interactive day is organised to support Registered staff new to managing patients with COPD in primary care. Staff attending this day will hopefully use it as a platform to continue to extend their COPD knowledge and skills.

Learning Outcomes

The day will include: Anatomy and physiology of the respiratory system. Presenting features of COPD. Clinical assessment and diagnosis, including the rationale for Spirometry and peak flow monitoring. Importance for smoking cessation. Management guidelines of COPD including pharmacology and inhaler technique. Living with asthma and COPD - the importance for self-management. Next steps. Resources for future education
