Who Should Attend?

This workshop is designed to increase the confidence and competence of Nurses who perform spirometry and also those are new to it. There will be plenty of opportunity to practice performing and interpreting results in a supportive environment.

Learning Outcomes

The Workshop will include: Role of spirometry in the primary care management of respiratory care Indications for the test Performing the test Interpreting the results - what is a quality test/understanding validity and reliability Understanding the difference between normal, obstructive and restrictive patterns of lung disease Care and maintenance of equipment After attending the workshop the participants will be expected to develop a portfolio of learning to demonstrate their competence in performing spirometry. All aspects of the learning will be supported by BCH\'s community respiratory team.
