Summary:

This module is designed for PCN Managers who hold direct line-management responsibility for PCN or associated staff. 

The course focuses on the practical people-management challenges most commonly encountered within PCNs, including managing performance, addressing difficult issues, providing effective feedback and developing teams that may operate across multiple practice locations or professional groups. 

Delegates consider how clear expectations, regular management conversations, constructive challenge and appropriate support can improve individual and team performance. The session also explores the distinction between capability, conduct, behaviour and wellbeing concerns and the importance of addressing issues early and consistently. 

Course content:

• Establish clear expectations, objectives and accountability for PCN employees and team members
• Conduct effective management conversations, supervision and performance reviews
• Recognise and respond appropriately to performance, capability, conduct and behavioural concerns
• Provide constructive feedback and manage difficult conversations confidently
• Use coaching and development approaches to increase individual capability and ownership
• Support team culture, wellbeing, resilience and sustainable performance across distributed PCN teams
