You will provide a varied range of administrative and medical secretarial support, including managing clinical correspondence and referrals, supporting clinicians, processing workflow and accurately read-coding relevant information into patients’ electronic healthcare records. You will also provide administrative support to our wider multidisciplinary team and liaise with healthcare professionals and other organisations as required.

Location
Greenway Community Practice is located in Southmead, a northern suburb and council ward of Bristol. Filton (in South Gloucestershire) and the Bristol suburbs of Monks Park, Horfield, Henleaze and Westbury on Trym are on its boundaries.
The area is well served with a range of local parks and sporting facilities. On the Southmead development trust site, where the practice is based, is a vibrant community gym and Café. A David Lloyd private gym is located next to our Practice and Horfield Sports Centre is a mile away.
The Practice
You would be part of a strong and experienced team comprising of 6 partners, 5 salaried GP’s, 2 clinical pharmacists, 4 Nurses, 4 HCA’s, a Paramedic and a First Contact Physio.
We are very proud to have been rated as ‘Outstanding’ by the Care Quality Commission and voted 4 times the ‘Best GP Practice in Bristol’ by our patients in the annual GP patient survey.
We are ranked 65 in the top 100 practices in England and have one of the best patient recommendation scores with 95% of patients recommending our service.
We are a popular training practice, engage in regular clinical meetings and invest time to interact with each other on a daily basis.
The Role
The successful candidate will provide a high-quality medical secretarial service, supporting GPs, clinicians and the wider multidisciplinary team with the efficient management of patient-related administrative processes. Duties will include preparing and processing clinical correspondence, referrals, reports and other medical documentation, ensuring information is accurate, appropriately formatted and dealt with in a timely manner.
The post holder will be responsible for processing and tracking referrals, investigations and hospital correspondence, liaising with secondary care providers and other healthcare professionals where appropriate, and ensuring that relevant information is communicated to clinicians and recorded accurately within patients’ electronic healthcare records.
The role will also involve monitoring and actioning incoming correspondence, scanning and filing clinical documents, allocating tasks to the appropriate clinician or team member, and following up outstanding actions where required. The post holder will ensure that confidential patient information is handled appropriately and in accordance with practice policies, information governance requirements and data protection legislation.
In addition, the successful candidate will carry out workflow processes and accurately read-code relevant information into patients’ electronic healthcare records, in accordance with the practice’s coding policy and agreed procedures. Attention to detail and an understanding of medical terminology will be essential to ensure that clinical information is recorded accurately and consistently.
The role requires excellent organisational and communication skills, the ability to prioritise a varied workload and a professional, confidential and patient-focused approach. The post holder will work closely with GPs, nurses, administrative staff and other members of the multidisciplinary team, providing flexible administrative support in line with the needs of the practice.
The successful candidate will contribute to the delivery of an efficient, responsive and high-quality service, helping to ensure that clinical and administrative workflows are managed effectively and that patients receive timely and appropriate support.
