Practice Manager – The Milton Surgery
Overview
Salary: Competitive, depending on experience
Hours: To be discussed
Location: The Milton Surgery in Weston-Super-Mare
We are looking for a Practice Manager ready to lead and inspire our practice team.
The Milton surgery is well-established and respected GP practice serving
approximately 9000 patients. We pride ourselves on delivering high-quality patient
care whilst fostering a supportive, inclusive, fun and sociable working environment.
We are part of Pier Health super partnership and primary care network. Whilst each
practice within Pier Health maintains their own identity and autonomy, they benefit
from overarching support from Pier Health. This means that the surgery enjoys some
of the benefits of being part of a bigger organisation, without losing the enjoyment of
working within a smaller team in the practice.
We are seeking an exceptional Practice Manager to join our ambitious and forward
thinking practice. This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual who enjoys leading
people, driving improvement, solving complex challenges, and helping shape the
future direction of a growing organisation.
As Practice Manager, you will be at the heart of our practice, working alongside our
GP Partners, clinical team, and support staff to ensure we continue to provide high
quality, safe, and accessible care to our patients. You will play a key role in
developing our services, supporting our workforce, maintaining financial
sustainability, and ensuring the practice remains responsive to the ever-changing
NHS landscape.
This is a varied and rewarding leadership role where no two days are the same. You
will be responsible for the overall operational management of the practice whilst
supporting the Partners in delivering our strategic objectives.
You will:
• Provide visible and effective leadership across the organisation.
• Lead, motivate, and develop a multidisciplinary team.
• Manage the day-to-day operations of the practice.
• Support financial planning, budgeting, and business performance.
• Ensure compliance with CQC standards, NHS contractual requirements, and
information governance regulations.
• Drive quality improvement initiatives and service development.
• Support workforce planning, recruitment, and staff wellbeing.
• Build strong relationships with patients, stakeholders, the primary care
network – Pier Health, and wider NHS organisations.
• Help shape and deliver the practice's long-term vision.
We are looking for someone who combines strong operational management skills
with strategic thinking and excellent people skills, who is passionate about delivering
excellent services for patients while creating an environment where staff can thrive.
What We Offer
• A supportive and collaborative Partnership.
• An opportunity to influence the future direction of the practice.
• A committed and experienced team.
• Ongoing professional development opportunities.
• NHS Pension Scheme.
• Generous annual leave entitlement.
• A positive and supportive working culture.
If you are excited by the opportunity to lead, innovate, and make a lasting impact, we
would love to hear from you.
