Salaried GP (Fixed-term maternity leave cover ) – Portishead Medical Group

Overview

Salaried GP

Portishead Medical Group
6 sessions per week | Fixed-term maternity leave cover

Portishead Medical Group is a well-established, 6-partner practice serving a population of approximately 17,500 patients. Based in Portishead, North Somerset, close to Bristol, we are recognised for delivering high-quality, patient-centred care within a supportive and well-organised environment.

We operate a total triage model, enabling effective demand management and ensuring patients are directed to the most appropriate clinician first time. This supports safe workload, good continuity of care, and effective use of the wider clinical team.

We are located in a large, purpose-built health centre in the centre of Portishead, with a new community pharmacy immediately adjacent to the practice. The practice also benefits from an extensive garden, used by staff for coffee and lunch breaks and shared with the local community for growing produce and developing gardening skills.

The Role

We are seeking a motivated and committed Salaried GP for a fixed-term maternity leave cover, working 6 sessions per week. The post is offered on a fixed-term basis, with flexibility around job planning within those sessions.

Alongside formal learning, we value informal connection - including a well-established daily coffee break culture, which all clinicians are encouraged to join.
