Downend Health Group is growing our clinical team, and we are looking for a Salaried GP to join us.

It’s been an eventful time for some of our GPs, and we are now recruiting because they are leaving us to do something far more exciting ….  no less than 3 of them are heading off to have babies!

So, what is it like to work here?

We are a large practice, with two large modern buildings providing care to around 28,500 patients. We have over 100 members of staff, which means we have the scale to provide plenty of support without losing the feeling of being part of a team. You will have experienced clinical colleagues around you, and our wider team includes knowledgeable administrative, secretarial, and medicines management staff, and dedicated IT support.

• We provide tea, coffee, squash, and fresh fruit – you can occasionally find the odd cake or biscuit lurking if you fancy something less healthy.

We understand the demands on our salaried GPs and strive to provide a manageable working day to include:

• 15-minute appointments
• 12 patient contacts per session
• Protected admin time
• Allocated coffee breaks with your peers
• Regular follow up slots for you to use
• One week study leave pro rata
• Six weeks’ annual leave plus bank holidays pro rata
• Regular clinical meetings
• Mentoring and support from a GP Partner
• Medical indemnity & GMC membership covered pro rata (subject to successfully passing probation)

We also have our Hub sessions, where GPs can work alongside clinical colleagues in an open plan environment. Sometimes it’s useful to have another GP sitting nearby where you can bounce an idea around, share a tricky case, or simply say “Is it just me or….”
