Primary Care Placement Request

With training bursary of £2,500 to support supervision requirement

South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SWASFT) is urgently seeking a Primary Care placement for a postgraduate Trainee Specialist Practitioner (tSP) starting in September 2025. SWASFT have developed a Specialist Practitioner role to work in tandem with the ambulance doctor response cars with additional skills and training to safely assess and appropriately manage patients avoiding admissions where possible.

The recruited tSPs are 3 years (+) post registration, who embark on a 2-year programme completing an academic programme to obtain a Post Graduate Diploma in Advanced Practice, which is complimented with an internal training programme and placements. At the 18 month point in the programme a Primary Care placement is required to support continual development of diagnostic reasoning, assessment and management of undifferentiated presentations; expanding practice and finessing clinical skills throughout the programme.
