Storage and Access
Storage and Access
Any certificate information obtained by the LMC prior to the implementation of its online service is stored securely in locked, non-portable storage units. Access to this information is strictly controlled and limited to authorised personnel who require it to perform their official duties.
Handling
In accordance with Section 124 of the Police Act 1997, certificate information is disclosed only to individuals who are expressly authorised to receive it in the course of their duties. Cantium maintains a record of all individuals to whom certificates or certificate information have been disclosed. It is a criminal offence to share this information with any person not entitled to receive it.
After a period of six months, Cantium securely deletes all certificate-related information, retaining only the applicant’s name and the practice name for record-keeping purposes.
Retention and Disposal
All certificate information obtained prior to the launch of the LMC’s online service is retained and destroyed securely.
The LMC does not store any certificate information relating to its online service. Cantium purges application data daily once an application has remained in “archived” status for six months. Thereafter, only the applicant’s name, disclosure details, and the associated business user (organisation) details are retained. This information is held securely by Cantium for the duration of its contract with the LMC, plus an additional 6 years, after which it will be permanently deleted.
