HCA Core Immunisation (F2F)

This comprehensive two-day course is designed for unregistered healthcare professionals who are new to immunisation practice. It is suitable for healthcare assistants, students employed within the practice, such as student nurses, student nursing associates, student allied health professionals and student pharmacists, as well as GP assistants, care coordinators, unregistered pharmacy technicians, and any other role not registered with a professional body.

Aligned with the UKHSA National Minimum Standards, the training provides essential knowledge and practical skills to deliver safe and effective vaccination services.

 

Key learning outcomes include:

  • Understanding national immunisation schedules and vaccine recommendations
  • Safe and effective vaccine administration techniques
  • Proper storage, handling, and disposal of vaccines
  • Legal and ethical responsibilities, including consent and documentation
  • Identification and management of adverse reactions
  • Communication strategies to support informed decision-making and reduce vaccine hesitancy
  • Infection prevention and control during immunisation
  • Special considerations for vulnerable groups, including children, pregnant women, and those with underlying conditions
  • Accurate record-keeping and data management
  • This course prepares registered professionals to begin immunisation practice in clinical settings confidently.

 

This course includes training on influenza, herpes zoster, pneumococcal, and respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) vaccinations. Please note that COVID-19 vaccination is not covered in this programme.
