Extraordinary LMC Newsletter regarding GP Collective Action: 23/12/2024
The ALMC Newsletter
Welcome to our weekly newsletter, sharing the latest news and topics of interest for practices.
– LATEST NEWS –
We would like to share an important update regarding GP Collective Action, specifically the commissioning of the eating disorders pathway.
Adult Eating Disorder Pathway (aged 18 and over)
Expressions of interest will go out to all practices in the New Year inviting them to sign up to a new adult eating disorder enhanced service which will cover the physical monitoring for lower risk patients. This will include delegated phlebotomy and data collection for physical observations. Details relating to coding (for data extraction) and tariffs are being finalised.
Children’s Eating Disorder Pathway (under 18s)
The physical health monitoring for this group of patients is to be commissioned entirely separately from General Practice and will take place within the Children’s Hospital. The operational details for this are being finalised.
As both these eating disorder pathways require an additional few weeks until completion, Avon LMC has agreed to extend the notice period for this activity from 6th January to 27th January.
We are confident that this will allow a smoother transition to a safer commissioned pathway which will be beneficial for patients. This means we are requesting that GPs make no changes to their current practice until 27th January 2025.
